Kalamazoo's own THE MENTHOLS.

CHEVEU first played Kalamazoo over a year ago at Kraftbrau Brewery
in support of THE KING KHAN & BBQ SHOW.
They will be playing the next night, March 10, in Indiana

Black Jack Productions Flyer Archive #6

This was a good one. Doo Rag featured the one and only Bob Log III (long before his fabled appearance at WIDR FM's Barking Tuna Fest) and his partner in crime Thermos Malling. Their merch consisted of fucked up thrift store clothing (without a band logo anywhere to be seen, kind of looked like they may have found this shit on the side of the road) and copies of their latest album at the time ("Doo Rag, What We Do"), minus the LP sleeve (they weren't back from the printers yet).
At one point during their set, a fight broke out between the two. At first it was funny, then uncomfortable, as everyone in attendance realized they weren't joking. Then, the show just kind of ended.
Oddly enough, the bass player featured on the flyer
was not a member of Doo Rag.
I believe that it's the guy from Kerosene 454. Can anyone confirm?
Don't make me ask Joel Wick.

WIDR Dance Party = Goodtimes

Thanks to all who came out last night for the WIDR Dance Party.
It was a smashing success.
Also, thanks to my fellow WIDR DJs Dirty Dub, Richard Bowser and
Bat Guano for spinning the goodtimes party jams, and to the Mighty Narwhale for performing.
Bat Guano flipped me off for ending my set with
Cyndi Lauper's "Goonies 'R' Good Enough".
Thank you, thank you Jesus.

I might be back later today to post some new flyers.
Maybe.

Black Jack Productions Flyer Archive #5

This was my second time seeing The Jesus Lizard (the first was a year or so previous in Grand Rapids at The Intersection with Girls Against Boys).
But this was out of hand. The show was oversold by around 100 people. Club Soda could hold 500 legally (so I was told). There were right around 600 persons in attendance. I made it up close to the front of the stage for In Ourselves and didn't (couldn't) move until after The Jesus Lizard had finished. Ah, the good ol' days.

Dirty Dub to guest host "Rock and/or Roll" tonight...

Hey all,

Dirty Dub will be guest hosting "Rock and/or Roll" tonight on WIDR FM for me.
I have sadly been unable to perform my radio duties for the past 3 weeks, but I will return next week with all sorts of new stuff for your ears (promise!)
Thanks to Napoleon Solo for hosting last week.

Also, I have all sorts of wonderful new plans for this here blog.
I just haven't had a lot of spare time recently to carry them out.
I have uncovered STACKS of flyers, photos, etc. for sharing and caring.
So stay tuned and don't touch my fucking hamburger.
